Seems a bit simple but i have a 71 bay with knackered beam. I have now bought another beam the year i don't know but it has two bleed nipples on the calipers unlike my current beam which has one. This is the only real difference i can see. I know it is easier to get the calipers etc for the later bays so how do i tell the difference. Only asking because the balljoints are knackered and my new beam and was thinking of changing the trailer arms off my old beam but won't if i know it's a later one.
bloody hell confusing myself now.

There is no difference in the beam or the trailing arms, its just the spindles and calipers that are different.
Late ones do have 2 bleed nipples, though not sure about the other 2 styles of caliper.

'71 bays have one year only caliper and are a pain in the arse to get stuff for! AFAIK '72 on bays have the same discs and calipers (and rear brakes) as used up to the end of T25 production in 1990!

I think , without looking it up, that the calipers are the same from 72-86 but the discs/drums/shoes are all different on T25's. :)

so how do you tell the difference are the disc's themselves the same? and the studs etc.Is it only the calipers? Only visual difference i can see is the nipples. I need to see a later bay i suppose.
Why do i alway buy these one year vans I have a 67 split (1 year)
and 71 (1 year)

later calipars have thicker pads and larger diam bolts.
threads are the same but have a step-up on the shank.

just remove a bolt from each calipar. take a look. you will see
what i mean. but you will be better off sorting the late stuf to
use as they work better and the parts are more available.
replace the balljoints cos they cost not a lot. will probably cost
more to have fitted than the cost of the joints! and no more
worn out tyres!!
good luck steve
