Hi can anyone help?. I Have a 73 bay with a 1700cc t4 engine, also fitted with twin dellorto carbs. The problem is that the carbs have been fitted with k and n air filter, and are quite loud. I have not got standard air box and have been told it would have twin solex as standard, any ideas how to lose the k and n,s and make it quite.

I am afraid that is the nature of the beast, K&N style filters are about all that is available. Personally I love the roar of free flowing carbs. What exhaust do you have fitted? Have you done anything to sound proof the bus from inside?

Something like this is what you need -

Cuts out nearly all the carb roar - nice & civilised.

This is my home made effort - I believe they can be bought (CSP or Kerscher perhaps) but rather pricey when I looked into it several years ago.

The pods are home made GRP mouldings, the pipework is black plastic drainpipe.
