Easter 2012? Start on the Good Friday at JOG (maybe drive up with your moped/scoot in a van) and then ride south . . . maybe using all the smaller roads . . . a few 'vans' with camping gear (and tools) following?
I know there are a few 49'ers on here . . . we could set up a 'Just Giving' page and get it sponsored.
Please let me know if there's any interest and I'll get 'serious'.
I reckon both MCN AND Volksworld/Ultra would run a piece on this.
I reckon it could be a really good bonding/friendship making (and memory making) experience . . . especially with 'talking bollox' around a camp fire each evening.
Count me in for a support vehicle driver, LWB kombi t5, so plenty of room for tools/gear etc, maybe even a couple if spare bikes in the back, plus a big awning, we had 15 people in it last year boozing when it was raining and it wasn't even half full!!
I like the sound of it, either as a support vehicle, or I may get myself a moped and take part. I've not ridden any sort of motorcycle on the road since 1983.
I've never ridden, but I'm thinking of getting a cheap one, doing my cbt and doing it with 'L' plates, is that doable? Although I have one of the old pre-97 licences will that let me ride one without plates and just a cbt?
C50s have got to be one of the most reliable 'peds on the planet, even if they do rust a bit. Also, because they look the same, you can sneak a 70 or a 90 motor in there.
Not entirely sure a 49cc machine would be able to propel my fat ass! (Then again Jeremy Clarkson and his massive heed made it across Vietnam on a Vespa! :lol
What an excellent idea.
I met this guy the other day http://www.vegibike.com/ and thought i'd love to do something like that. I'd be up for this Time to start looking for a bike .
