| Alternate Engine Got a Scooby motor in the back of your dub? Or a V8? Alfa? You know a Porsche motor drops straight in - right? This is the forum for you. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.

The reversed subi gearbox is only an option if you convert to IRS.
If your happy to go with an early SOHC engine like an EJ20 or EJ22 you could stick with the stock swing axle box, although do you know what ratio box it is?
is it a 1200/1300 box or 1500?

you will be wanting a single cam engine then ,2.2 is easiest to find but i think there was a 2.5. a 2.2 is gonna be pretty quick in a bug around high 14` low 15`s
