Just i have seen beetles at regular big classic car shows that are never at vw only ones. Like you say , it would help knowing what approximate area the car is in tho.

Maybe a quirky reward? Meal for 2 , bottle of champagne etc? Get it viral on twitter or similar

I'm not on Twitter or social media mate - bit old school really. I'd happily spot you a bottle of bubbles and a meal if you could get it making a noise on social media which then lead to a successful ending though! ;-) I can send photos over etc. I'd happily offer cash to anyone who can trace it too. Private detectives want silly money and I don't believe will do any more than I already have. I also check Ebay listings for it every day (each time a new car is listed). Many hours invested in finding it so far

So will be lucky to spot it on the road.
Maybe being restored?
And here lies the point of why it's so hard to trace mate. It's been fully restored before being parked up so its not at a restorers (fuzz off sos car show even helped me out by discounting some cars he knows of which fitted the bill). It may be the owner has emigrated or died or heave given up driving. I have alllll the public info on it, just need the address of the current owner :-( sounds soppy but I don't think my life would be complete without seeing it again, it started my 40+ Aircooled ownership off

At least it looks like it is still around somewhere.
So until proved different, its worth searching for .
Would be a good idea to Bump this thread just before Bugjam,Action etc...

Excellent idea chap!

Indeed, it could be worse - it could be scrapped or worse.
