my 1776 in my bay has crapped itself and have been offered a 2l type 4 engine for sensible money are they a pain in the rear to put into a bay that had a 'type1' engone in or is it as simple as fit like a stock engine? its on a 75 late bay
Gearbox ratios may not be ideal. Also, there are differences in the input shaft and starter. Look at Atwell's page here: http://www.ratwell.com/technical/FAQ.html

Anything is possible. I have T1 engine with Wasser crank, T4 flywheel and 6 rib box in an early bay.
