| Chat / Discussion Kind of like a VW Club Online you can sit in our virtual pub and talk about whatever you want to. All opinions are valid, but no insulting (to more than our intelligence), abusive or libellous posts. Please feel free to post your opinion on any given subject, but also be aware that the other 7 billion inhabitants of this planet have the equal right to disagree with you - and some will certainly tell you so.
No 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads too (please use the 'Dude! What's My Car Worth?' forum) . . . and please don't use JUST to post links to other VW Forums/websites - we are aware that other sites exist (obviously), but blatant 'plugs' (poaching) will simply be deleted. |

'71 Bay Window Camper Insurance for 20 yo
Because of my age, it seems that insurance companies won't touch my if I ask about driving my families 1.6 '71 Camper.
Irritating since I am insured on a 1.6 Beetle. Are there any other young-ish people who can get insured on thier campers? If so who did you insure with?
thanks for the help! - james

I just renewed the insurance on my camper today. I got a good deal from Adrian Flux 08700 777120. I even managed to get them to drop the price of recovery (including home start) from £75 down to £45.
Mind you, I'm a lot older than you but you don't know unless you try.
Good luck

Im 22 now but I insured my bay using JustKampers (I think it was HIC who actually provide the policy) and it was good value, and i've currently got a 2 litre bug insured for even less! I'd suggest giving them a go.

Have you tried Footman James?
They insure me on my bug at a reasonable rate, and I intend to insure my '71 bay with them when I get it roadworthy.
Currently pay under £400 a year for the bug, lowered, mods etc and I'm 18 and male. TPFT, limited miles and agreed value.

I have just insured my well modified '68 Bay with these guys...
http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk/
The beat Adrian Flux by best part of £100 on a comparable policy.
