From personal experience I would go with Pertronix because of the probs with the accufire ones.
First one I fitted lasted a couple of months so I complained and got a replacement unit. The replacement was a very bad fit and lasted a day, the bottom of the sensor(?) that fits over the shaft was rubbing and ground layers of plastic of itself.
Now have the Pertonix unit and have had, touch wood, no probs since.

Accufire is cheap...cause it's complete crap. If it was anywhere near as good as an Igniter (for example) the price wouild be similar. I foolishly bought one of those long ago. It showed me the potential for going electronic but was completely unreliable- worse than points. I've never had any probs with Ignitors, in bugs or buses.

The accufire is crap but cheap, the pertronix is good but more expensive. Threw away the accufire that i fitted to my girlfriends bug cos it packed up after less than 100 miles and fitted points back on it. Have a pertronix on another engine and its great, fit it and forget it.
