| Chat / Discussion Kind of like a VW Club Online you can sit in our virtual pub and talk about whatever you want to. All opinions are valid, but no insulting (to more than our intelligence), abusive or libellous posts. Please feel free to post your opinion on any given subject, but also be aware that the other 7 billion inhabitants of this planet have the equal right to disagree with you - and some will certainly tell you so.
No 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads too . . . and please don't use JUST to post links to other VW Forums/websites - we are aware that other sites exist (obviously), but blatant 'plugs' (poaching) will simply be deleted. |

So what type of foods are best for protein and if i'm having 6 meals a day what type of food and how much per sitting?

I have issues as i don't eat meat, so personally when i was training seriously i used to eat a lot of Tuna and Pasta salads and Tofu, high protein low fat sources, and Brown rice and bread for unprocessed carbs. Scrambled Eggs for breakfast ever other day, about 4-5 eggs, and then Protein shakes straight after a workout.
As was said before, you need at least 30g of Protein per sitting, thats a lot of protein.....couple of big Tuna steaks, about six eggs, big chunk of Tofu, that sort of thing. thats why most folk go for suplements, that bulk of food isn't comfortable for most people

whats the best thing to do if your not naturally lean (eg lardy!). ive been getting fatter by the day for the last couple of years never been able to build much in the way of muscle, and am always getting the piss taken out of me about it...have just joined a gym. should i do lots of cardio type stuff before worrying about weight training? do i need to give up mince pies and bacon sarnies?

It's far from easy to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time (some say impossible). Get your bodyfat % down through cardio and diet. I hate running machines, so tend to swim and cycle for my cardio, then free weights for building.
Remember that body building is 25% weights and 75% diet. Visit the forum I recommended a few posts up.

I've just gone from 13.2 stone to 9 stone, in 3 days or so that happened, scary stuff.
I am on high steriods at the mo and eating all the time, but the main thing they have put me on is cartons of a high protein drink 250 caloriers 4x a day called shs only get from docs.
nearly back to 12 stone within 2 weeks.
I do eat alot at the mo as well with the steroids. but think the high protein drinks are doing it.
but then you need to watch for high cholestrol and blood sugar going to high causing other health probs.
all about balance really.
more carbs and protien
