UPDATE
Well good progress over the last few days (For me )
changed the gear knob!
Fitted some new chrome baby moon hubcaps(photos later)
adjusted rear drum brakes
changed rocker cover gaskets

Gave it all a good clean

^ All that was left!^

changed oil seal inside rear drivers drum
then tonight after getting pissed off waiting for my dads mate to do the stereo wiring so ripped everything out and free-styled!
got a cd player > amp > 4 6X9's & a sub
The Amp only had two speaker ports so 2 speakers running off it, as the amp isnt powerful enough to run 4, sub's not wired up as I want to dedicate a hole amp to one.

I filled the hole in a semi smoothed dash

fitting new gear boot
mounting fire ext.

[quote=1970BluebellAlex;4512040]Hey, ok well I cleaned up the rear arch panel inside where the rust is, I couldnt use a grinder today, as my dad has nicked it! So it was the drill with the wire attachment.
It cleaned up, but from what it looks like, someone has cut out a old piece of metal, welded in some thin gauge sheet, and filled the cavity with some strange rubbery filler. Another great bodge from the past.

That 'strange rubbery filler' is seam seal. BTW nice looking bug that

LITTLE UPDATE!
Ok peeps, today made a little progress, as the horn doesnt work due to wiring, and I dont want to attempt that yet, I wired up the horn to come through the bottom left hole by the hazard button etc (picture tomorrow )
I fabricated a small panel to fit on the lip of the glovebox to fit the cd player into well after an hour or so, I got it to fit! But still has some gaps around the stereo, so will be sorted at a later date.

It doesnt look pretty at all, but does the job till I can get more fabric like the doorcards (if anyone knows where I can get it pm me ).
I also with Ye Olde Electrical tape, I ever so slightly cleared up some of the wires behind the dash, but didnt even attempt the loom It will be a job later in the year
I dont know if I mentioned before, but I fabricated a parcel shelf, then using some heavy duty carpet cutting , 2 6X9's & a sub you get this
