Yeah I'm looking forward to it. I've been following you and your website for a long time now which has been a great inspiration into nudging me along into doing it. Definetly not so worried about doing it now and I'm actually looking forward to getting the transplant started.

Only my workshop fell through yesterday so its getting put back on held for the minute, so I'm back to accumilating parts for the conversion now until I find another place to start the task at hand.

Little up date but no pics,

I've been spending every night this week trying to get the engine back together after spending last weekend stripping it down. This is so that it holds oil this time round but I'm starting to suspect its the join in the case that is where the oil is leeking from.

Tonight is my last night I can work on it so hopefully I'll get it finished and if it makes it I'll be bringing it up to VW action this weekend but I've still got alot to do to it. But the Mrs said I can sleep in the garage tonight so I'm well chuffed.

Any how.

Spoke to KEP last night and my adaptor plate for the scooby lump should be in the post next Tuesday. Not sure how long it'll take to get over the pond but can't wait for it. I'm also going to be getting my Quaiffe diff installed next week too which'll take two weeks for them to get it back to me. Left on my shopping list is the Uniball joints which I've ordered but just waiting to be manufactured and the rear shocks which'll I'll tackle once the engine is installed.

Other then that I only have to come up with a cunning plan as to which route I'm going to take to fitting it into the car. but I'll bring that up another time.

Well been a busy bee and spending lots of Dough recently:

Received my adaptor plate from KEP now,

Got the LSD diff installed into the 915 now too.

I've taken the easy route out of sorting a gear shfiter out and gone and ordered a cable change shifter from Renegade hydrids over in the Las Vegas

I decided to go this route as its going to take out alot of the head ache when attempting to sort out gear selction.

These are not my photo's but they give an idea as to what i'm up against. The VW shifter rod is not in a good position to couple up to the porsche selctor rod on the gear box. By using the cable system I do not have to consider the rod noir any alignment between the shifter and the gearbox. The cables will be made as per my requirements once everything is in place and I'm happy with everything.

I've moved the motor into a massive workshop now and I'm preping the gearbox so it's ready to go in. But I can't start trial fitting things until I receive the shifter as there is a bracket im going to have to account for before I start brainstorming ideas for my engine cradle.

Just a couple of photo's taken away whilst I was moving the car to the new work space.

Getting a jump start....

Easily one of the nicest Notches I have seen!
I absolutely love the colour & the stance, the contrast between the height & porsche rims makes it for me!
Keep it up!

Thanks for the comments people,

I'm not going to take credit for the paint job that was like that when I got it. But I'm fully responcable for the wheels. The only customising I did was the grey birthmark on the rear quarter.

Yeah the stance looks sweet but its on the bump stops and the MOT guy said he wouldn't pass it for me next time so its going to go up front and rear but not by much. Plus its a bit bumpy the way it is at the minute. With it raised I can run those wheels without it rubbing on on the front or rear, and also the Scooby engine is around 100KG more then the VW so it'll need some fine tuning once its all in place.

Since then its all come out and I'm almost ready to put it all back in. So wet your whistle on these... enjoy

Ok so the last pictures where from the end of last year, since then the entire rear running gear has been removed to allow me to look into running some coolant lines and also to enable me to clean a few things up at the back of the car.

So this is eveything all mocked up together

This is the engine support bar that was constructed, its using the original Subaru engine mounts under the bell housing and then comes back to use the original VW engine mounts, its solid mounted at the VW mount as the engine is rubber mounted where it meets the bar under the bell housing.

Attached to the engine
