Ok...it really pains me to do this, but the wife is going back to Uni, and London is too expensive, so I haven't really got a choice...anyways...enough of the sob story...here's the car...
1964 Java Green Volkswagen Beetle, registered in August 1964 and is one of the last small side window Beetles, registered from new in the UK and RHD.
I've owned the car since April this year (not very long I know) and the chap I bought the car off had owned it since September 2004. When he bought the car it had had one owner from new for around 40 years and had been very nicely pampered by him, with it changing hands a few times previous. He then set about changing it from stock and putting a big 2387cc motor short box and a whole host of Hi Po goodies for the car, running the car in that form for around another year before desciding to de-tune it. The car is very original but has had a full exterior respray around 2 years ago. Due to it's stance, and the amount of speed bumps on the road these days, some of the paint has been lost on the underside of the spare wheelwell, which you can't actually see unless you are looking for it on the floor.
There is a stack of history with the car including most of the MOT certs, original bill of sale, original log book, stacks of tax discs, every service invoice from new, fully stamped up service booklet etc etc
It was a cover car in Dubscene issue 2 which would be included in the sale. There is also a VW motoring for August 1964 which is a nice touch.

On the whole it’s a very nice, fairly original bug. It has 12 months tax and a fresh 12 months MOT where it needed nothing doing.
It’s a great car and everything works as it should, from the interior lights to the door gaps its very original, it is however not mint, I would like to make it clear that its not super detailed, to sum up it’s a smart presentable early 60’s bug which has had a couple of owners, has had minimal welding and if looked after should not require anymore for years to come.
The paint work is never going to win any awards but its smart and presentable and by no means embarrassing.
The car will come with all the history and all photos/receipt since I have owned it.
I dont like being messed around and i'm as straight up and honest as they come. I like to get straight to the point, so the asking price is £5000, which i'm very solid on.
I'm going to take some more pictures over the next couple of days, but if you have any questions at all, please dont hesitate to contact me here...
