We wanted to give you an update on the reset password emails that went out yesterday. Due to the high volume of emails going out and some service providers blocking them as spam, users have either been getting them late, or not at all. To do so just go to log in >> once it redirects you click forgot password >> follow the steps provided.
If you do not remember the email address associated with your account you can use the contact us tab at the bottom of the page to email us for assistance. Please select the “other” option and add subject “security password issues”

Aircooled Mechanical TechA Q & A Forum devoted to Aircooled Mechanical Issues. Got a problem? Then ask in here. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.
Just replaced my cooling fan and hub as they were damaged (long story!)
Got the engine back in and went to fit the alternator pulley, and it wont fit - what mistake have I made? The 2 hubs (one is the old damaged hub from the cooling fan) that I have have two flat sides, but the hole on the pulley has three flat sides. The fan was fitted to the hub like the one on the right (I think...!)
What is the hub on the left - have I lost the correct hub for the alternator pulley, and found something else? All the bits that came off went in to a tub so it shouldnt be something that was kicking around my garage
Could I fit the pulley hub on to where the fan goes by accident?
I have had a look at the parts on line, and it looks like I have screwed up! The hub on the LEFT is for the fan, however, I am not sure what the hub on the RIGHT is for, as it will not fit the fanbelt pulley. Have you any suggestions?
Thanks for any advice!
