Long slow build but going well
In the process of finishing the chassis repairs on my basket case. I'm trying to do it on a very low budget around family and work commitments. If anyone is interested I'm blogging as I go on www.vwbeetlepickupbuild.com

Looks like a fun build! Just had a read of your blog and the first post about the drama of the collection was comical - I've also had days like that
Will be following your progress. Good luck! |
You're best off posting some proper updates here, perhaps with links to your blog for the full story.
Good luck with it. :) |
Thanks for the feedback, will be doing both the blog and this site but wanted more information and pictures posted. Trying to keep it low budget and aiming at the low tech side of beetle building.

Has anyone else experienced a build that was more strip and clean than actual build? I'm still taking apart mine, would very much like to start putting things back together!

First part to go back on

Finally managed to put a part back on, if only for a short time. Welded a new throttle pedal mount on so fitted the pedal assembly to get a good position for it but I found my cross mount was a little high so I can't get both bolts into the tunnel wall. Going to adjust (I mean hammer) to get it lower before painting the pan. Already removed the pedals ready but it's a good beginning.
Also started getting the gearbox ready to refit but found one of the m18 bolt holes to be cross threaded so waiting for a new tap to sort it out. |

Trying to get pictures on by the way

Little shop of horrors but making progress.
This is my passenger heater channel that had a repair panel glued on the top of it and the bottom just fell out. This makes it easier to remove and saves me time with the grinder. Attachment 260941Attachment 260939 |

This car has been a long slow build but it’s still going strong.
Here’s some more pictures of my passenger heater channel replacement hope to finish it by the end of the month. The heater channel, not the car, that’s taking FOREVER!!!!!Attachment 260945Attachment 260943 |
