Bikes - Road and BMX, plus bits.
As fun as it is owning lots of bikes, I'm having a clear out.
KTM road bike - circa 1984.
It's stripped down.
I flatted it back and lacquered it, I wanted to keep the 80's look.
I have rebuilt the hubs and bottom bracket, with new ballbearings. I have new bearings for the headset.
Everything has been cleaned and serviced.
It has a complete 105 set, in blue.
Everything is in good order.
New bar tape, tyres, gear and brake cables and reassembling.
I have a set of tyres, but they don't have the 80's look.
The last photo is before I took it apart.
Price; £200 ono.
JF Wilson - circa 1978.
Wilson's are an independent bike shop/builder, based in Sheffield. They're still a going concern and can supply decals or do total rebuilds.
This is a handbuilt bike from the late 70's.
It has been stood for a long time and needs a complete strip down, service and rebuild.
Everything that is perishable, has done and will need replacing.
Now the good bits:
It is totally original, apart from the saddle.
Everything is straight, working and nothing is seized.
Corn cob cassette.
Price; I'm going to put a figure of £200 on it, but will listen to all offers.
Muddy Fox MTB.
It's an older model, with cantilever brakes. I think it's 2012.
The size is 51cm, as it's a cyclocross it's more like a 54cm. I think Kona market it as a medium.
It has Tiagra gears, 3x10.
The wheels have been swapped. They're both straight.
Everything is in good order and works as it should.
The overall condition of the bike is 'Used but not abused', The seat and bar tape have scuffs, the frame has scratches, pedal arms have rub marks. it's my 'go to' bike, so gets a lot of use. Having said that, all the moving parts get looked after and it rides like a dream. If you're after a pristine bike, to lean against the pub (after placing a piece of velvet against the pub wall ;)), this isn't it. If you want a perfectly usable bike, in full working order, this could be it.
Price; £250 ono.
Alf Webb handbuilt fixie.
A handbuilt fixie.
A single rear cog, no flip flop.
Mavic Open Sport rims.
Carbon front forks.
Front and rear brakes.
I'll supply it with a set of SPD's.
Not for the faint hearted. an out and out fixie. You'll either love it or hate it. This is one of my favourite bikes and I'm not fussed if it doesn't sell. I don't use it as much as I should, but when I do, I grin like an idiot all day.
Price: £250 as it is. £200 without the Fizik saddle. No offers on this one!
To give you idea of the sizing, I'm 5'6", but tend to sit high, so think 5'8". The bikes are all set up for me.
...except the BMX. :)
Some quality kit in there.
I need a bit of a herd thinning too at the moment, a lot of my stuff isn't half as nice as that, except the stuff I'm keeping ;)
