Best solution would seem to be to use firefox with adblockplus which seems to ninja their asses.

Much better than IE as well IMHO

edit - damn spoke too soon, doesn't seem to work on the 3 listed by raddubs above
Fact is, it's not the fault of Firefox, It's Ebay that should deal with this/ Stricter control over what can and can't be inputted would surely deal with this.

Default not thE-bay but a good un

got this from the police today not ebay but they are even posing as the tax man.

[NORTHAMPTONSHIRE COMMUNITY MESSAGING - Northampton North - NB-CMS-0532-2009 - Tax Rebate Scam 04/12]

Good Morning, this is a message from the Northamptonshire North Police Community Safety Unit.

* Crooks target council tax payers with bogus rebates *

A telephone scam that targets council tax payers, falsely claiming they have won a council tax rebate, is today exposed by the Valuation Office Agency.

Many households across the country have received calls from crooks claiming to be VOA or council officials who tell their victims that they are eligible for thousands of pounds in council tax rebate.

The 'lucky' people are asked to send the caller their credit card or bank account details so the money can be refunded. Other scams ask for a one-off administration fee to process the refund.

VOA Director of Council Tax, Tim Eden, said:
"This is outrageous and targets vulnerable people with false promises. People must not pay any attention to these crooks and should report such calls to the police. Some of the callers are very aggressive and intimidating to make people pay up, but people should not be fooled into thinking these calls are legitimate. The VOA does not ask people for financial details.

"If people have questions about their council tax band, they should go to our website, www.voa.gov.uk, where they can get information on how bands are determined and what to do if they disagree with their banding."

Thank you for your continued support.

Default It's not just Ebay..

I've bought loads of items from sellers on The Samba and although it's a great site you have to realize that the sellers can often be less than co-operative..

In the main I've had not problems, but occasionally the money is sent and then nothing....

Chasing up people that don't want to be helpful or have another agenda is a real hassle and very slow on results.

I recently had problems with a seller in Colarado Springs, but the Samba really helped me out and got the seller to finally send me tracking details which enabled me to get what I'd paid ($150) for delivered safely.(which is I wanted in the first place)

I took months and even now the seller keeps sending abusive emails (which I quite like) but it really proved that you can never just presume that your seller is not a scam artist.

Happy Shopping.
