Engineering TechA Q & A Forum devoted to Engineering Issues that don't necessarily fall into Aircooled or Watercooled Tech. Got a problem? Or an engineering question? Even a buildings or property engineering question? Then ask in here. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.
Need a bit of guidance please ! Iím shortly moving home but Iíve just found my oil fired floor standing combi boiler has a a couple of pin hole leaks on the domestic hot water tank, the tank is approx 30Ē tall x 18Ē deep x 5Ē wide, Iím guessing itís cast iron,I fixed one hole a few months back with some epoxy resin that has worked no problem but now Iíve got a little weap on the top of the tank so I thought I could maybe lead load the complete top of it as Iím sure there will be others appearing in time. The boilers 15yrs old and a new tank is £800 if I could get hold of one. What do you think !!
Cheers Glenn, havenít sold the place yet but I donít want to leave the new owner with the problem, Iíve only called one parts supplier but he said itís probably an obsolete part now but if he could get one it would be around £800, Iíll have a crack at it next week when Iím back on nights
