The car, in general, is in very good condition. Bodywork is good, paint is also good, has some small marks here and there but most of them would disappear after a polish. The car is sealed from beneath. The interior and carpets are new.
All mechanical wearing parts, such as all steering parts (levers etc), all shock absorbers, steering gear, steering damper, and sealings are new. The carbonator was cleaned. New alloy rims and tyres were fitted (all weather, less than 300 miles old). The car comes with an additional set of original steel wheels with tyres on them (Marathon wheels). They are quite rare and are perfectly fine with even one new tyre fitted but would need a paint job. The profile on all tyres is good.
Relating to safety… Disc breaks in the front and seatbelts are also fitted. There are no seatbelts in the rear.
The battery is new. The engine is in very good condition. The meter shows 69.761 miles. It was replaced against a 1.6 engine at some point. Although the paperwork I have does not show it. But as far as I can see, it seems to me that the engine does not have 69t miles on it. I can just guess but it looks lower mileage. It is completely dry. The oil was changed around 500 miles ago.
I would sell it with some spare parts, such as a set of new spark plugs, a new ignition coil, windshield wipers, a spear steering gear and some smaller replacement parts. A set of tools such as an ignition light, feeler gauge, a jack and some stands to jacking up the car, and some other tools, and a repair handbook. Basically, everything to care for the Beetle. Also, a very good car cover tailored for the Beetle for weather protection and a hood cover for longer journeys to protect from stone chips. The car comes with some papers like bills and stuff to trace its history.
The Beetle is in Edinburgh. Looking for £9.000 ono.
