I wanted to take her out for a wee run round today but the weather is bloody awful. Galeforce winds and driving rain yet again.

No, but i did buy her some door finger plates to protect the paint under the door handles but they look like this so are too shallow to clear the trigger.

I managed to easily hammer some more depth into them as they're such thin aluminium using a rubber hammer and an old door that was lying next to the shed.

Not perfect but good enough to stop scratches to the paint. And yes, the car is the same colour on both sides.

Had a quick run out in the bug and decided it'd be rude not to take a piccy or two.

I forgot how bouncy compared to a modern car (or even a stock height bay or T3) they are. Sounds like the stock length front shocks are bottoming out over big bumps as its about and inch or so lower at the front.
No noises from the rear though so it looks like the mudflaps were to blame.

Theres a few little niggles to sort out. The steering wheel is still off centre by a small amount and the front brake discs got hot as i think i could smell them when i put it back in the garage. All the surface rust is gone from the discs now anyway.

I'd have expected you to insist on a MARATHON or GOLDEN CUP to keep with the style of the Bug

Bug looks class by the way

Cheers.
They changed Snickers back to Marathon for a few months at the end of last year for a Retro edition. I have no idea what a Golden Cup is though.

The tailpipes are black and sooty so i think its running a bit rich.
The steering wheel also covers most of the rev counter too which is a bugger.
