Also interesting stuff about your 'daily drivers' etc. or interesting cars you have seen on your travels, even motors-based TV shows you can recommend. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.

Default 1962 VW BEETLE (HORACE) - HERBIE BUILD

1962 VW BEETLE (HORACE) - HERBIE BUILD

Hey Volksfolk,

This is my 62 Bug called Horace.
I've had him 10 years, but only on the road for one year to go to Bugjam 26.

This is my mate Davie testing it out.

He had an Oval window conversion and engine lid - but I have cut that out last year, and I have the correct 62 section to graft in.

He is going to become a Herbie replica from the original Love Bug film in 1969 from when he went racing.

After 9 years I managed to get a Genuine Golde sunroof for him.

Needs a new cover

I was just typing to ask if you were adding the sunroof. Good find!

I separated the shell the other day and highlighted some parts of the bodywork I want to replace.

Going to get the best quality panels I can for him.

Sourced a rear window for him

He now has a Goldseal 1600 twin port with electronic ignition and a half moon shape fan housing

Got a lovely interior set for him recently re-trimmed in TMI fabric.

Sadly though I need to get them re-done grey.

Cool, subscribed. How far are you going to go with the replica? Are you going to get banded steels and go for white paint outside, grey paint inside?

Please say yes.
