Readers Rides Post pics, specs and build-up stories of your vehicles - or even your garages here. Also interesting stuff about your 'daily drivers' etc. or interesting cars you have seen on your travels, even motors-based TV shows you can recommend. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.

While this was drying I began cleaning the wings

The tops had mild surface rust on them so I took them back to bare metal...

...went over with some rust inhibitor (deliberate comedy pic )

....then painted over with some anti-rust primer

Hi

Looks like your both cracking on well with the bug and I have to say I am really jealous that you have a Pigalle interior it really is something special - make sure you restore and re-use all those rare parts.

Have you seen this thread - check it out

Thanks Paul, yeah I've done a bit more need to get the photos and thread up to date really, progress has been delayed a bit by the new job and the fact the beetle is at my folks for now. We love the Pigalle too its in great condition considering its 43years old and looks great in contrast to the Pearl White.
Thanks for the link too, great to see more pigalle Learnt where the name comes from too now - "everyday's a school day!"
