Default Firestone wide oval tyres

Any one know anything about these?
I would like a set for the back of the gtv but I can only find sizing advice for early cars. people are running f70 size on short axle cars but I have a 1970 4 stud car and don't know if they will rub on the wings.
any help appreciated ta!

I'd advise you look at the Avon CRZ66 as Firestone Wide Ovals are getting massively difficult to find, and if you do find some, they're probably past their best. The Avon looks the part, and you can buy them new, they perform excellently too in my experience.

You can also get them in both 185 70 and 205 70 R15 sizes which should allow you to clear stock wings depending on whether you're running pre-66 axles or not.

Hope that helps.

thanks for the info dave, you can still get wide ovals brand new from northants tyres for about the same cost as the avons, its just the sizes are hard to figure out, being a vintage style tyre they are still pre size standardization.
nice to have a second choice though.

Consider me schooled.

I didn't realise you could get Wide Ovals still.
