All well and good until you realise that they've bumped the prices up extortionately to compensate for it. Example:

0w40 synth oil-5l.

99.50 GSF (Mobil1)
49.50 Halfords (Mobil1)
25 Euro Car Parts (Ebay store, Petronas)

I've stopped shopping at GSF as I believe this is dishonest, and encourage others to do the same.

I know their normal prices are stupidly high. But with the right discount they can be cheaper. I bought lights and fuel sender and gauge with a big discount and they were cheaper than anywhere else. The problem is when you need a part and there is no discount code valid at that time. I agree that they should just have lower prices to start with and stop the f***ing around

Neither gsf or euro can touch halfords on mobil1 for years.
I use gsf but always compare discounted price with them vs discounted price with euro vs my mates trade account and go with whichever is cheapest for a decent brand item

Aye, you can from time to time get a good deal out of it if you do the research. I refuse to do business with them now due to their dishonesty, which is how I see their "price high, discount low" model. Even if it saves a few quid, I don't want to deal with a company like that.

Likewise. Used to be my main source of servicing parts as they are very local. Price High / Discount high way of selling does my head in.
Agree totally. This is a deceiving and dishonest way to sell goods, and i stay well clear now. I always saw GSF as one of the initial on your doorstep companies stocking classic vw stuff and its a shame they went this business model route.
