Well it's been awhile but just sorted a 4" narrowed beam for the bug and shorten shocks all ready to go in.

Needs the frame head repainting first though

Well the beam is in and its back on its wheels, looks great, drives nice though a bit stiff.

Need to setup and pre load the beam and that should help.

Right so after much much reading, I have a plan to move fwd with the engine.

I will pull the lump and the plan is to top end rebuild 1300-1600 to run as stock as possible assuming all the checks run ok this will give me the chance to do a check of my ability and do some much needed work on the engine bay, gearbox bushes and the removable rear valance etc. I will try to drill the crank as it sits to 8 dowel and fit the new flywheel I have. there is far too much info out there at the moment for me to digest so I will go for the stock 1600 and add extras as I go, fuel regulator for the carbs and deep sump and new flywheel nut. fingers crossed engine to be out by November to start work.

Any updates on the bug dude? Enjoyed reading through this thread. Shame about this isolation milarky, as i'm itching to get down to my garage and do some on mine. I have nearly finished building my engine (in my home workshop) and will be running out of jobs soon!
