Is it like the Traction avant eg. the drum is on a taper with a woodruff key?

Have you tried heat? Get it hot with a good blowlamp, may just do the trick

On the Traction some come off quite easily but others required the proper Citroen puller, which is a serios bit of kit.

If the heat trick doesent work then I think you may find the club may hire out the tools you need, I know the Traction owners club do.

Thanks Trikky2 .
But doesnt mention anything in the workshop manuel about being tapered .And with the other side coming off I can only guess it isnt.
I thought of heat but always a bit worried about what I might be damaging.
The breaks seem to be working on the side it is as when I depress the peddle it stops rotating. So assume it cant be seized in there. So what else can possibly be holding it.(also took out the six screws from the bearing through centre holes as manuel says and the plate now turns freely. So also not stuck.
Thanks for your help anyway.
Cheers Bougls
