Default TYPE 5 Sliding door probs

hi all,
I have the dreaded passenger door problem ..living in Spain , it's a left hooker ..i have read all the blogs ..and various remedial stuff ..seats out , checked wiring loom and locking relay under seat then ( with difficulty ) removed the door card , hoping to be able to get into the mechanism ..but the galvanised plate with all the window gubbins is there ..I think it's dead locked and then the mechanism has failed do you have any ideas about solving the problem ..or is it the angle grinder ..and new door scenario.. any light you guys can shed on this predicament would be appreciated the bus is a 2006 t5 ..and once I have the door opened ,will any new components replaced need to be configured with comfort control or to van through diagnostics?
