Thanks! That is very useful!
I have been looking at Bank Accounts, I am thinking Barclays at the minute, I have a friend who works in one.
I am just taking my time going through everything & setting up at the minute..

A bank is a bank! They don't appear to want to communicate us plebs that are their customers but most of the time that suits me: the least I talk to them the better. As long as money is processed in and processed out that's all I want. I have always banked with Lloyds and haven't had any problems serious enough to warrant changing.
Record keeping is most important- act like a large corporation with this (as one day you will be big and you will reep the benefits). Make sure you have durable records of all transactions. A phone call with a purchase order should be backed up by something tangible confirming all the details. If there is any dispute in the future you need to have details of exactly what you ordered, delivery dates & cost.
I mention delivery dates: why is that suppliers always guarantee delivery dates that they cannot possibly adhere to? It is much better to state a comfortable delivery time and then improve on it later rather than the other way around (most of this not applicable to OP

Cheers guys!
Record keeping is going to be done properly too. My friend is an accountant at some big firm in Glasgow so she is keeping me right
Everything that is consigned or sold will have an invoice, everything that is packed & shipped will have a packing card with who packed it & will be sent with via a signed for service too.
Some auction houses don't do a delivery service, which is ridiculous in this day & age, especially if they are online! I know from packing up other auctions that after items have been collected, I can have everything packed & shipped (or ready to ship) within about 3 days.. which I think is ok.

F.O.P, any idea what their card readers are like? I was looking at them a while ago.

Best thing about the PayPal reader is there's no monthly fee and only a transaction fee the same as the others. And pay pals transaction statements are great for year end time as well

Do you use one?
The paypal one might suit me better because I am only having a certain amount of auctions a year, so the rest of the time it would just be sitting there.. Any idea if they are battery powered or wired etc?
Is it a one off fee each transaction or is the higher the amount the higher the charge?
Cheers!

I haven't got one as don't have face to face transactions. Have a look on the PayPal site as it could work out great in your situation

Just remembered a friend has one! She is getting grilled now, she says they are amazing. 2% on every transaction, credit & debit cards.. Does that sound about right?
