Default Campsites\Fishing in Devon\Cornwall

Hi all,

Myself and a friend of trying to find somewhere in Devon or Cornwall that is a good place to take young kids for their first fishing trip - as well as having a nice camping area (T5 + awning). Maybe somewhere that allows real fires would be a bonus.

Any recommendations?

Cheers,
Redwood

Never camped in cornwall but fished there.
A good spot to fish is near the Headland hotel in Newquay.
If your that way its worth a go.
If you drive to the Headland hotel it will be on your right hand side, just after it is a right turn. Turn right there and drive to the carpark at the end of the road.
Just so you know you have found the right place there is a dis-used RNLI building and ramp there.
Anyway, when you park up theres a beach on the left (never caught from there) And a large hill in front of you. Take a recky around the hill and you should find a good spot.
There is a cove on sead hill on the right hand side that ive had a fair amount of sucsess from.
Macarel, gurnard and wrasse to name but a few.

Theres a campsite just outside Lizard called Wild Camping can't post a link sorry but Google "wild camping lizard Cornwall" Its on a farm not sure if they let you have fires though.
Fishing Here is Good try Poldhu Very good for bass, Coverack Harbour theres an excellant pub called the Paris so you can get a pint while the kids fish lol, Church cove is good too for bass and flat fish, people some times have fires on the beach there if you fancy a night fish, and its right next to Dollar cove where occasionally you might find silver dollars washed up from the ship wrecks.
Lizard i s good to but a bit hard to get too some of the coves without having to climb down the rocks, But i recommend the witch ball pub if you want a pint and the food is good too.
