Default Garden Camping

My wife and I both love camping but we are fed up of the hassle in going camping. The rise in popularity of camping over the past few years has led to the prices shooting up, fully booked sites and the 'Outwell brigade' taking over campsites en masse. We've seen all sorts sights but you know the ones, massive 12 man tents, 4 cars, every extra, fan heaters running, TVs, I've even seen a raw chicken being roasted on a full sized rotissery run from the electric hook-up. Also we've been threatened with a knife by druggies just for asking for a communal kettle back!
So in light of all this we've become garden campers. Rather than sleep in the house, we sleep in the tent in the garden. We've lucky to have a garden that isn't overlooked with flat lawn. So since the end of March, we've only slept in the house once. We have to move the tent every week but even so, the lawn looks like a patchwork quilt!
We stay in the house until bedtime, half 11ish, lock the house and trot out to the tent. We both sleep better (other that the bloody Collared Doves and Wood Pigeons goo-gooing at half five!) and in the morning we get up and go indoors for breakfast!
Does anybody else kip outside?

Is this for real? Is it a spoof thread that's over my head?

Much as I love camping I would not sleep in my garden out of choice! I like fresh air and the sound of birds and l often have the doors open at night.

Plenty of very nice spots left to camp without having to resort to the garden. What is your garden like?

We wore hats in our sleeping bags and took quilts when it was cold! We just like sleeping outside! I've got a few different tents so we chop and change a few times but it wont come down till we go to Vegas in 7 weeks! Then the lawn will get a rest!

Being in a sweaty tent is not like being outside IMO. The worst thing about camping to me is waking up (generally with a hangover!) in a tent on a sunny morning. Great once you are up, but I hate lying there feeling claustrophobic and about to break out in a full body sweat, trying to psych myself up to getting up. Especially when it's only 7am!

Or is your house absolutely hanging?

My wife and I both love housing but we are fed up of the hassle in going housing. The rise in popularity of houses over the past few years has led to the prices shooting up, fully furnished rooms and the 'ikea brigade' taking over housing estates en masse. We've seen all sorts sights but you know the ones, massive 12 bathroom bungalows, 4 cars, every extra, centrall heating running, Retro Radios, I've even seen a burger being flamed on a disposable BBQ run on the ground. Also we've been threatened with a rustic whittled knife by hippies just for asking for a communal kettle back!
So in light of all this we've become bedroom sleepers. Rather than sleep in the veg patch, we sleep in the bedroom in the House. We've lucky to have a house that isn't Cold wet and muddy. So since the beginning of Time, we've only ever slept indoors. We have to wash the bedding every week but even so, it's warm under the patchwork quilt!
We stay in the house until bedtime, half 11ish, lock the house and trot up top the bedroom. We both sleep better (other than the bloody Alarm going off at half six!) and in the morning we get up and go downstairs for breakfast!
