Alternate Engine Got a Scooby motor in the back of your dub? Or a V8? Alfa? You know a Porsche motor drops straight in - right? This is the forum for you. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.

Default Air filter/intake

Bear with me as i maybe overthinking here and causing myself work.

My Ej25 non turbo with MAP sensor (not MAF) with reversed intake/throttle body has a Cone filter K&N Style but i was thinking of fitting the legacy setup inc snorkel/resonator/PCV breathers so its queiter and more stock.

Problem is space and i cant get it over the tranny or anything as its a big unit

If i cut the firewall, routed a hose from the throttle body through the hole in the firewall and fitted the airbox and resonator inside the car behind the back seat with the duct exiting into the rear wing would i get a lot of noise inside the cabin ?

My firewall is effectively behind the front seats and the noise level despite sound deadening etc is just silly!

Hi Al

Hope you and family are well.

I bought a K&N filter and made an aluminium enclosure for it so it sits up the top of the engine bay under my vented decklid

All good ta, you too

I toyed with that option for so long!! Even concidered in a chrome shower air vent built into the decklid at one point.
