Default 1300 engine for my 65?

anyone got a 1300? i bought another 65 (to add to my 65 beetle and 74 westy)last week with the engine SUPPOSEDLY turning freely and just bit smoky but supplied with new barrels/pistons (load of bollox it hadnt turned over in well over 30yrs (since was stored in france)the thing was solid and half full of what looks like rock hard calcium/salt and all rusted inside(had to destroy barrels and pistons just to get apart and get inside to see how bad it was

so now im stuck in a situation either rebuild somehow(as is original engine) or source another 1300 from somewhere

so if anyone has one to sell???

thx

Hi Andy,

I have an engine that I have dry stored for a couple of years. It was brought with a project that I used a different engine in.

It's marked as a AB. Complete, just missing the exhaust.

I swapped a couple of bits of tinware away and have not got round to spraying the replacement, hence why I have not sold it yet. If interested I will have a look and give you more info.

Based just above Salisbury.

Joe
