Lake District, Stonethwaite.
Stonethwaite Farm Campsite.
A real bare bones site.
No electric, not even to light up the toilets.
Only cold water, we used the stream instead as it was next to us.
No fires on the ground, but there were fire bins and barrels so you can have a fire.
I believe there's some more facilities near the farmhouse, but we stayed out in the far field and never ventured near them.
It's at the end of the road (track), so no traffic or lighting, so very quiet, except for the stream next to you.
The nearest pub is a five minute walk.
Fantastic walks without all the TNF set.
£8/night for an adult, a child, a car and a tent.
Not a site for glampers.
Leave Keswick on the B5289 southwards, down the east side of Derwent Water. Turn left into Stonethwaite (There's a site as you turn, go past it), it's at the end of the road. You just turn up, pitch up and the farmer comes and collects the money in the morning.
