I've no idea on an alternative source, but my missus gets loads of Kindle 'books' for free, from the Kindle store.

If you're a Prime member there are lots of 'free' ones on there.

Bri's link looks good, I'll have a better look through there.

One thing I have found with the free books is that often I find the story or writing weak, sometimes I want a quick easy read and these can then fill a gap but I often find the better reads as in everything in life you have to pay for.

Thanks i think the kindle versions of many popular books are often too expensive on amazon for virtually same price you can get a paperback that you can sell on after reading it . I only consider kindles when they are a lot cheaper than a 'real' book
