At present I have 195 45 15s which don't rub but look ridiculous I think. I hope 165 65 15s will not rub but before I spend time and money fitting them, has anyone else tried that combination with a standard beam?
The 185 60 15s are nominally 8mm greater in diameter than the 165 65 15s I've bought and the 165 65s will be 20mm narrower across the tread so that suggests there's a good chance they won't rub. Thanks for that. I might get them on tomorrow if I'm not working and if I can persuade the 195 45s to come off! I've just got a 125 85 15 spacesaver temporary spare to go on a standard steel rim which will be OK at both ends.
Ok, I've fitted the 165 65 15s to the front now. I have 165 80 15s on the back. I've just given it a good blast up a country lane for a few miles. No problems over bumps and round corners but light rubbing under heavy braking on a bumpy road. It's not obvious where with the road being wet. When dry it should be. They look much better.
