Readers RidesPost pics, specs and build-up stories of your vehicles - or even your garages here. Also interesting stuff about your 'daily drivers' etc. or interesting cars you have seen on your travels, even motors-based TV shows you can recommend. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.
Managed to blow compressed air through the accelerator pump fuel discharge nozzle so refitted it. Blew through the rest of the jets while the carb was apart too just to make sure. Reassembled and it now revs properly.
Set of trim removal tools arrived in the post today so i could pop off the passengers door panel without resorting to using a screwdriver and possibly scratching the paint. Only £3.22 off ebay too.
Fitted the bonnet handle and was quite pleased that the bonnet still opened OK.
Took a trip to the hospital in Workington to pick up some chrome trim to replace the final missing piece from the front 1/4. Just needs a quick polish up as it was quite tarnished so i sanded it with 2000 grit wet and dry.
A break in the weather allowed me to reverse it out of the garage for the first time in years and turn it round.
The ignition light has now decided it won't go out until the engine is revved to about 3000rpm but then stays out. Not sure whether its the brushes or voltage regulator? Its been fine for a couple of weeks now and decided on the morning of the test to play up.
Also, i've got the seat back as far as it'll go before the seat base hits the floor and my left knee hits the steering wheel when i lift it off the clutch. Not sure whether to knock a couple of dents in the floor so it slides further back or just fit a smaller steering wheel.
