Default national trust great langdale in lakes

should keep this to my self as its my favourite site, family field with kids play area well stocked shop room for some campers (VWs!) good distance between tents. and no rowdy campers or large groups its the buisness. only downside is you cant book in advance but get on and you will definately go back

Great call.

Only 45 minutes from my house, and a great place to stay the night before Elemental '10!

Love the site, use it as base for loads of trips climbing but disagree with that ^^^, one of the worst nights camping I've ever had was there... they didn't know whether to argue, shag or snore - so did all 3. Despite some loud complaints they carried on, I've never tented it there since

No cars allowed on the grass means you have to camp in the car park if you are in a camper. Not great cos you get disturbed by all the doozers who forget they need stuff from their car... like all night long!!! A great place to camp in a tent though amazing views, amazing selection of whiskey in the old ghyll
