I'm impressed T33tle, thats some commitment but sounds like you really enjoy it so maybe its not

I just can't imagine going out to a tent from a warm house once bedtime comes

Sometimes I can barely move from the sofa to go upstairs to bed, let alone outside.

Well done.

Out of interest, why not build a shelter for your tent, something to keep the rain/snow off. What are you sleeping on? A bed with mattress or a roll mat? (Sorry if I missed that)

Another Tentversary! 3 solid years sleeping outside in a tent! Still no sign of me wanting to come inside. This appears to be permanent!

Or a log cabin to sleep in?

After various failing air beds in the first 6 months, I now sleep on 3 sheets of foam. A very firm dense sheet on the ground which keeps the cold off, and softer ones above covered by an old cotton sleeping bag underneath me and a Vango Nitestar bag to sleep in.
I like the movement of the tent in even a slight breeze, the sound of the rain too is great just above when I'm tucked up and warm, seperated by just a sheet of nylon!

So, another update.. rapidly closing on 4 years sleeping outside and I'm surviving the biggest storms for 7 years in Ciara. 70mph+ winds have made sleeping outside like being on the back of a flat-bed wagon driving down the motorway in the fast lane.
My current tent set up is a 4-man tent, with a smaller 3 man tent fitting inside! Double layering has keep the rain out over the past year, anything that gets through the outer tent, still has to penetrate the inner waterproof layer.
I've used extra guy lines tied to a couple of trees and fence posts to fend off the wind and whilst it's been bloody flappy at night, I've still slept OK with my ear plugs in.
April will be 4 years since I've slept in the house and I'm still loving it.
