This week I'm going to getting the engine ready to be installed into the car. I purchased an engine from another local VZi member. The engine currently wears reproduction tinware, so I'm going to remove that and replace with the genuine tinware I refurbished sometime ago.

1641 engine currently with reproduction tinware. It's going to be fitted with twin Weber 34 ict carbs, SVDA distributor and Vintage Speed exhaust.

Refurbished genuine tinware which I hopefully will install this week. The repro tin behind the crank pulley and heat deflector tins underneath will be left in place.

Yes Steve(Flat4fanatic) has done an amazing job on the bodywork and most of the running is either brand new or refurbished, should look good when finished.
My target is to get the car ready for Stanford Hall.

14 weeks to Stanford Hall.
Mine might actually make it down there this year too.

Probably about 3 months by the time I get the car back. It'll be close, but most things now are ready to bolt on.

Removed the repro tinware and installed the genuine tin incorporating the thermostat. Heat exchangers need to be removed, will do that once the engine is in the car.
Changed the chrome alternator stand for a genuine one and installed a SVDA distributor instead of the Bosch 094. Bosch blue coil gone and replaced with a black flame thrower coil. Going to fit a new degree pulley as well.

Before :

How it looks at the moment:

Is that a trekker fan housing or a bug/bus one with the outlets welded up?
