Yes we’ve been to Malta. Be aware that it’s not really an all inclusive resort sort of place. There are a few hotels that offer it, but it’s not that sort of place.
Also be aware that there are very, very few beaches - mostly it’s shear cliffs, and there are relatively few places that you can get down to the sea. Many swimming spots are just rocky ledges on which it’s possible to climb out of the sea.
We rented a villa and had our own private pool therefore.
Depends what you want from a holiday of course! It’s very rugged, and frankly there isn’t much from an attractions point of view. 2 weeks there and we had pretty much done everything we wanted to do there. We wouldn’t go back. It wasn’t bad, but simply there are nicer places that we would choose to go back to.
Have you considered Cyprus, or the canaries perhaps?
Also consider what time of year you are going. It can be unbearably humid in the summer months.
