I know there's a few on here but most are a good few years old.
Does anyone have any recommendations for campsites in the Lakes - around Windermere/keswick/bass lake areas (not that fussed whereabouts between them) that don't try and charge £30 a night? We usually stay with my folks so not up on campsites around there. Needs to be ok with kids/vans and have showers but doesn't need to be posh.

A great campsite to visit is Eskdale CCC Club, which is in Boot and within walking distance of Skafell Pike and only half an hour from the sea. Just don't drive over Hardknott or Wrynose pass on the way there - it can be quite sketchy! Google Hollin Farm campsite or call them on 01946 723253.
Just to add to this - I stayed at Dungeon Ghyll (a few miles further into Langdale) on Saturday night with a mate, in our respective campers. Not necessarily a campsite, but it's the flat field they use as a car park, and it's £5 to park for 24 hours.
Pubs on-site are good, we got horrifically drunk and had a great evening.
