Hi. I have a set of Marathon wheels in black powder coat with centers for my 75 1200 beetle restoration. I fitted an adjustable standard width beam and would like to just lower it slightly at the front to improve the stance.
Any suggestion as to what tyres/sizes to fit to this combination as I think the fronts should be a tad smaller? Its a bit of a minefield when it comes to tyres so any help would be appreciated.
Original tyres size would have been 155 or 165 R15 as I think they were on radials by then. You could just stick with that size with the 165ís at the back? Some good options for slightly lowered car with 4.5 inch wheels would be.
155 (80) R15 front 165 (80) R15 back
165/65 front 195/65 rear
145 (80) front 165 (80) rear
Hi thanks a lot for that. I will probably go for one of the options you suggest after much googling myself as well. The original tyres are 155 R15 with a profile of 82 I think so I can judge the difference that the new ones might have hopefully.
