Default Forensic Scientist?

Bit of a long shot like but.....

My girlfriend has just finished uni as a Forensic Scientist, she is looking for work mainly in the north west but we may consider a move to the south of England for the right salary etc. She is really interested in the fingerprint part of Forensics but would consider anythng.... even lab jobs not related to Forensics. She got a 2.2 with Honours.

I did work experience with the scenes of crime department (SOCO)

The fingerprinting, photography and all other forensic investigation is all done by SOCO now, unless she wants to work in the fingerprint lab analysing them rather than out taking the prints etc.

I looked into going into SOCO when I finished my degree this year, the last time they recruited outside of the police force withing Staffordshire was 7 years ago, it is a particularly hard field to get into.

Good luck with it.

Lindsay Monroe has just gone on maternity leave, so there could be an opening at the NY crime lab?
