Exclamation HELP

hello
is there anyone in the kings cross area of london?
my engine decided to drop its oil load
is someone able to come round and see if it is only the flywheel seal?
i'm no expert
just to have a look underneath

i have been quoted around 500.00 to take out engine, replace the seal, clean engine, put new tinware on and put back in with the twin carbs

is this a good quote?

if it is the seal maybe someone can do the work ( i will try and help)

will pay some + some beers after the hot days work

thats a rip off quote you need friends at times like this dude

buy some oil.... check all seals and pour oil in looking for leaks...has the oil sump plug legged it? clean the underneath totally cleaner than a clean thing first...
if the oil goes in and no leaks then start the engine and run for 2 minutes then switch off and look 4 leaks...

make sure there are 2 of you....basics dude...
good luck

when i bought the car it had been standing for approx 6-12mnths.
the guy said there was a little leak (drip) from flywheel seal(will need replacing.)
guess when oil was hot it came out "a little bit quicker"

Could be a ruptured oil cooler or a number of other things. I agree with what Volkswalker suggests. For even half of the quote for repairs you could get just about all the tools you'd need to do the job yourself. Hope someone comes on and sorts you out.
