Go Back   VW Forum - VZi, Europe's largest VW, community and sales > Community > Readers Rides

Readers Rides Post pics, specs and build-up stories of your vehicles - or even your garages here. Also interesting stuff about your 'daily drivers' etc. or interesting cars you have seen on your travels, even motors-based TV shows you can recommend. Please, no 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your 'business', links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled 'What's My Car Worth?' threads and "Who Can Sell Me A . . ." posts.

Ditto. So sorry dude

I guess it's the risk we all take every day it just absolutely sucks when the worst does happen.

Maybe contact Pete at Californian Classics, he may be able to help or at least get you a decent quote and payout to fund something else if it's a gonner.

Noooo...

I don't know what I'd do if something happened to my camper... and that is much easier to replace!

Have you got an agreed valuation on it?

Totally gutted for you, I had my Beetle taken out by a fucking idiot nearly 5 years ago. Don’t jump the gun as there’s some seriously talented Panel beaters out there who may be able to rescue it.
I have owned my Beetle for several years & was completely gutted & angry when it was written off. I jumped & bought a mental 20V turbo MK2 golf GTi to replace it when the insurance company paid out. I then realised this was a huge mistake & promptly sold it. My Beetle is now going back together after being repaired earlier this year.
Type 34’s are few & far between so it’s definitely worth rescuing. Don’t take any stupid offers from his insurance company & stick to your guns.
Hope it all works out for the best.

Phil.

Wiped the back end off my bug in 98 and was only 3rd party insured. Finding a Razor donor may take sone hunting but where there is a will there is a way!
