Readers Rides Post pics, specs and build-up stories of your vehicles - or even your garages here. Also interesting stuff about your 'daily drivers' etc. or interesting cars you have seen on your travels, even motors-based TV shows you can recommend. Little update.

I got it on the road and put about 40 miles on it, then drove it to Stanford Hall last weekend. My longest journey in it, and I loved every second of it. My previous Beetles have all been lowered and big engines, but I cant see me in anything other than stock from now on.

Here are a few pictures anyway. At work ready to use:

Few last things before the show. Hub cap clips repaired and hub caps fitted. Swedish gravel guards fitted... Ready:

Made it to the show. Just about to set up our trade stand:

Put my car in the historic display outside of the hall:

Few more arrived:

A nice pic Ned from Hayburner magazine took:

Need to check my brakes as I have a leak, other than that its all cosmetic jobs left to do really.

I want a new set of running board rubbers and chrome, and some clip on wing mirrors. Also ordered some LED flashing bulbs for the semaphores and LED bulbs for the brake lights to try help be seen on the roads... Other cars dont seem to see me turning or braking.

LOVE IT so far

Little update...

The only previous bit of paint the car has had on the body was on the front quarter, and it looked awful. Redone it the other day. Its not perfect but it dont look as bad now:

Currently debating spending 1250 on a set of new Firestones, or put the money towards slamming it

The rear drivers side wing was more rusty than the rest of the body and it did my head in. Sometimes it didnt look bad but other times it looked dark brown.

I tried some Autoglym Magma and it worked better than I thought. Went over the wing a few times, did the other rear wing too and Im really pleased with how they came out. Match the rest of the body much better now. Used it very quickly on the roof and I think the car looks loads better now. Just need to find a good wax now.

The engine needs tidying up now, and I need to get my original 28 PCI rebuilt and fitted and remove the rebuilt one as it stands out like a sore thumb.

Loving it...

But... I love stock, but think it would look good slammed on Fuch or similar
