hey guys, im 17 and have my first car, its a 69 bug 1300, i havent passed my test yet but its in a month or so and i hope to pass first time. Anyway back to my problem, i have £1k away for insurance and that will just about cover it and then im selling my guitars and amps for about £1k so i can do up the car, the thing is im not sure weather to do the car up first by summer and then get insurance once its finnished or insure in and do it up slowly in the summer, any ideas guys? thanks in advance
i have a 69' beetle completely stock, when i was 17 last year i paid £450 for insurance im with footman james, have to phone them up to get a quote !!! mines a 1500 aswell.
Not going to go into details but Adrian Flux were a royal pain in the arse when I was with them. Footman James have been much better since I switched to them this year.
Only reason I went with Flux was because they would insure me on provisional. Can't remember exactly but it was about £1200 I think on a 1200 bug.
If you can hold out until you pass go with Footman James as I think they would insure me at 17 but only after I'd passed for about £700. Now 2years down the line and it's about £300 with them for a 1300 motor.
It is MOT'd untill november and i can certanly post pictures but im going to wait untill its a little dryer before taking pics so i can get under the car.
