Default Opinion on 1966 beetle stance

Hi Guys!
Iím Stefano and Iím from Italy. Iím here to ask you an opinion on my 1966 beetle.
This is the stance:

Front: Sway a way front beam not narrowed with Caster shims. Short KYB Excel G shock absorbers. Original 4j smoothie wheel with Nankang 145/80 r15 tyres. Standard spindles.

- Rear: Dropped one outer spline. Standard shocks. Hand Made 6.5J smoothie wheels with Nankang 205/65 r15 tyres.

At first Iíve chosen for a double paint wheel with original baby moon hub cap....

Some days ago Iíve decided to change the wheels asset....Iíve chosen a black paint for the wheels and Iíve mounted 4 buggy hub caps.....this is the car now....

What do you prefer??

I like the retro look of it with the two colour wheels but with the all black wheels it looks a lot more like a street racer. T bars instead of the bumpers would make it look like a cal look bug.

In the end its your bug though, so sod what everyone else likes. Which do you prefer?

Thank you for your opinion Zebedee!!! I prefer the second choice.....perhaps the car lost elegance and style but itís more sporty and racer!

Stefano,
Nice car.

Definitely the matt black!!
As the other guy said, fit nerf bars and add a BIG engine

That's a really nice budget way of making your car stand out wheel wise! Well done. Add some power under the back lid and you're done!

I think it looks awesome, love the wheels and that they're 2 tone, would you get away with slightly broader pair on the front?

I think its got a good stance, I have only recently had mine lifted up - Mine is now stock at the rear and maybe 1" down at front, still on adjustable front beam (but wound right up), but it looks stock now.

Tyre choice makes a huge difference also (165/80s) are my chosen rubber - and obviously 5 wide smoothies in black to complete the look

Welcome to VZi Stefano.

I like the cream/off-white rims myself - I think the stance looks good.

Really love that sort of 60s rally look, been tempted to get some broadish steels for mine

These are just standard 4J steel smoothies, with fat skinny tyres, not period correct for a '66 but I do like them over any alloy wheel
