New Beetle - boot won't open
Hi All,
The interior boot release switch on my 2004 New Beetle won't work. It opens on the Fob so it's not a motor issue. Also if I swap the connectors to the switch the boot release works on the fuel filler flap so it's not the switch.
If the lock motor works on the Fob then it can't be the fuse right?

Sounds like faulty connection or broken wire between the switch and the release actuator. Have you tried getting the fuel filler flap switch to operate the boot lid release motor ?

Yep the fuel filler works from the boot switch so it's not the switch. I'm thinking it might be broken wire in the flex connection between the door and the car.

I would agree, not the switch so a broken wire is the most likely issue.

The wires will be broken where the loom exits the body & goes into the tailgate.

i'm not sure this is likely, the tailgate opens on the remote key fob, but not on from the interior switch, my money is on the the wire being broken between the door and the car.
