theres a reset when the faults must be cleared if the circuit has being broke.......... battery disconnected, or an airbag/seatbelt unpluged.
and then theres reprogramed when themain module loses its life having blown an airbag or bags. chris hughes in total tuning is the only man for the second job

I have now tried the two different systems and the light goes off during reset then immediately back on again, it has never been in a accident so I'm guessing a faulty sensor!, next stop mega bucks garage I guess

Looking at those error codes it's more likely the diagnostic tool is not working properly.
Those error codes relate to the diagnostic plug and control module.

00003 - Control Module: Defective
Possible Causes

Control Module faulty
Control Module Software Issue

Possible Solutions

Check Control Module
Check for Control Module Software Update
Replace Control Module

01317 Instrument Cluster (J285): No Communications
Possible Causes
CAN-Databus Wiring/Connectors from/to Instrument Cluster (J285) faulty
Fault(s) stored in Instrument Cluster (J285)

Possible Solutions
Check CAN-Databus Wiring/Connectors from/to Instrument Cluster (J285)
Check Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) Usually Measuring Value Blocks (MVB) 125+ show the current Communication Status

01317 - Instrument Cluster (J285): Check DTC Memory
Possible Causes

Fault(s) stored in Instrument Cluster (J285)
Possible Solutions
Check Instrument Cluster (J285) for Fault Codes

Special Notes

Instrument Cluster (J285) stored a Code which influences other Control Modules Functionality
