Chat/Discussion Kind of like a VW club online - you can sit in our virtual pub and talk about whatever you want to. All opinions are valid, but please no insulting (other than to our intelligence,) abusive or libellous posts. Please feel free to post your opinion on any given subject, but also be aware that others have the equal right to disagree with you - and some will certainly tell you so. No 'For Sale' or 'Want To Buy' ads, plugs for your business, links to 'for sale' ads or Ebay links to your (or your mate's) auction (please use the VZi 'Classifieds' section) - this also includes thinly veiled "What's my car worth?" threads too (please use the 'Dude! What's My Car Worth?' forum) - and please don't use just to post links to other VW forums or websites - we are aware that other sites exist (obviously), but blatant 'plugs' (poaching) will simply be deleted.

Default The Car & Classic Thread 2020 - Weird & Wonderful

Happy New Year car botherers! Sorry for the slight delay and welcome to another year of the weird & wonderful car finds from t’interweb.

We’ll start with something weird, rare and interesting (rather than particularly desirable). One of Rover’s last hurrahs!

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1118179

Here’s to another year of great finds! Anyhoo, over to you. You know what to do!

Cheers,
Andy

I'd like to give one of those a try...A while back they were pretty cheap...but they have started climbing a bit now. I never even knew they would existed until I heard one one day. Thought someone had done a conversion...had a Google and liked what I saw...

The MG ZT 260 V8 is a belting car to drive by all accounts. The secret is out though and (as said) it isn’t the bargain it once was.

Shortly after Rover went pop there was a dealer in the midlands with a new one for about £14K. I nearly pulled the trigger on it, but got cold feet at the idea of sinking that much money into something with what looked like zero meaningful backup/warranty and the genuine potential for some eye-wateringly big maintenance bills.

It was an MG ZT too, and I’d have much rather have had the 75 V8 in “flying drawing room” spec rather than the vy MG.

If I’d bought it, looked after it, been lucky and kept hold of it until now then I might have done a lot better than if I’d put the same money into any other new car, but I’d have been equally likely to have been bankrupted by it.

I think this is pretty good value for money compared to some of the junk out there.

Brother had every variation of the ZT and loved them all. The V8 was awesome, a total minter (think it won at a few shows before he bought it) sounded incredible but had a bit of a drink problem lol
One of the rare cars that was available in RWD too!
Aside from Triumph 1500/1500TC (dolomite) what else was available in FWD and RWD...……………..now there's a game lol

Default Underground Car Park Finds

In other news, found this little lot languishing in an underground car park off Park Lane in London today. All dusty & discarded like rag dolls by their rich owners. A special treat amongst the mundane Ferraris and Astons was the SD1. Right up this thread’s street.

How the other half live eh?
